PURPOSE

Allowing the church to have a community presence by offering a third space.

Addressing the epidemic of loneliness in tangible ways, where people can come, gather, and connect.

Creating a space for pastors, elders, deacons and laity to meet.

Bridging the gap for the unchurched to be introduced to christianity in a familiar and non-threatening setting
-
Providing volunteers training and opportunities to care for our neighbours.

Promoting collaboration and partnership between local churches.

OBJECTIVES

Beautifully and artistically decorated space for gathering
-
Multi-functional furniture that can be used for a cafe setting during the week and transformed into a large space for Sunday worship service
-
The sanctuary/front part of the space is sectioned off for prayer and quiet reflection time for the public during the week
-
Rooms can also be sectioned off for small groups or meetings (e.g., with portable dividers or glass walls)

Daily scripture is projected onto the most visible wall

Cafe will be open 9am - 5pm Mon through Sat and reserved for church activities on Sunday and evenings (e.g., youth groups, deacon trainings, session meetings, Christianity Explore, etc…). Trained volunteers can use cafe equipment for church ministries any time.

High quality teas, coffee and refreshments at a reasonable price

Book corner with curated adult & children Christian books (for patrons to read during their stay and books for sale since there is no English christian book store in Richmond Hill/ Markham).

Recruiting and training of volunteers (in addition to basic cafe training, we will be providing psychological/soul care training).
